Why should I come to Oxford to study?
The best way to learn the English is to come to English speaking country so that you hear and speak nothing but English for one or two weeks. In Oxford, you will learn about English culture as well as you visit local tourist attractions and events. For centuries, Oxford has been one of the best centres of education in the world. Oxford is beautiful, charming and safe city with a cosmopolitan atmosphere, with London only one hour away.

How long is the business English course?
The minimum duration of our courses is 1 week and maximum is 4 weeks.
What is the course participant’s minimum age?
The minimum age is 25 and the average age of our course participants is 46.
What is the class size of the group course?
The class size is usually between 3 to 8 people.
Will I receive a certificate at the end of the course?
Yes. At the end of your course you will receive an attendance certificate.
Do I need to do a test in English before I start the course?
You will be assessed at the beginning of the course. Upon your arrival you will have a brief conversation with your English teacher. Then we will place you in a class with students of the same level of English speaking.
I am worried that I can’t speak English very well. Am I still OK to apply for the Business English course?
Don’t worry. We start English teaching from a basic level.
What is the timetable for the business English course?
Our classes start on Monday – Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
What will I study in the Business English Course?

- Morning classes: These classes are usually your 'English' lessons, and you can expect each lesson to focus on one or more aspects of English grammar, key words, phrases and sentences.
- Afternoon classes: These classes are normally 'business' lessons, and will focus on business correspondence, holding meetings, giving presentations, negotiations, leadership and global communication.

As soon as we receive your application, we will reply and provide a reference number for your application to reserve your place. A place in a course is confirmed when we receive your payment of full fees (no less than 4 weeks before the course begins).

What happens if I want to cancel my course?
If your visa is refused, we will refund all fees paid in advance less any charges. Note: To be able to refund you we will need the refusal document from the Embassy and return the original letter of acceptance supplied to you by the OCMD. ACCOMMODATION
Can you help with my accommodation?
In Oxford, you have a great choice of accommodation. For your stay, you can choose from top class hotels, authentic college accommodation or traditional bed and breakfast places. We advise you to work with your local travel agent to find accommodation that will suit your own standards and personal preferences. If not, we would be very happy to organise accommodation for your time in Oxford.
Smoking is allowed but only outside and in any "designated smoking area".

Do I need an entry UK Visa to attend course at Oxford Centre for Management Development?
The nature of our short-term intensive courses is Training and not education. Members of the European Union countries do not need a visa to visit the UK. The situation for visitors from other countries varies. Please check with the British Consulate or Embassy in your country of residence or visit the website http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk
We recommend that all course participants have valid travel insurance.
What is the weather like in Oxford?
The weather may change several times in one day. Bringing an umbrella is always a good idea, also a jacket and sweater even in summer. Make sure you have warm clothes for winter. For the weather in Oxford, please go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/oxford/
What happens on the first day at the Centre?
Your first day starts with an introduction and explanation of your programme at 09:00am. From 9.30 to 5.30 are English lessons and various activities according to your timetable that you will receive upon your arrival.
What happens if I need a doctor?
We will help you to make an appointment if you require a medical assistance. In a case of emergency the number for medical emergency is 999.
What do I do if I need some other help?
At OCMD we aim to make your stay in Oxford as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Please, don’t hesitate to ask for any information and assistance you may need.
Can the Centre arrange my airport transfer?
Yes. We would be happy to arrange a taxi to collect you from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, and other places of arrival (see our leaflet for prices).
What type of plug for electric appliances do I need?
Standard British voltage which is 240v ac 50HZ. UK plugs have three pins but you can buy an adaptor plug at most airports or at electrical shops in Oxford.
